New Bottom Fishing and Trolling Rods & Reels
by admin on Nov.29, 2009, under Cebu Sport Fishing
Multiple charters on the same weekend are becoming more frequent. This is good business but it’s terrible to have to delay a guests trip because we don’t have enough gear for all the charters we’re booking on the same days.

Tomman
We at Cebu Sport Fishing understand that your vacation in the Philippines may not be as long as you want it, as such your window of opportunity to do some fishing is very tight. Now that I’m back in Cebu, I was finally able to purchase the much needed fishing equipment we needed for our charters. A BIG THANK YOU goes out to the guys at TCE Tackles, Mandaue City, Cebu Philippines for hooking us up with some fantastic new gear!
We purchased 14 new rods & reels for our guests to use on our charters. These are available for rental and, as usual, are offered free for use on all our fishing charters amounting to P12,000 or more. We’ve added bottom fishing rods & reels, jigging setups and the much needed trolling sets. This new gear purchase will compliment the existing 20 units we currently have on stock.
Don’t forget all our charters include FREE dead & live bait. Charters amounting over P12,000 will have FREE use of rental equipment including that of terminal tackle, lures and even a big cooler to store your catch!
Return Home

Well, I’m back in the Philippines. Man oh man did I miss Cebu. I missed the people, I missed the warm weather and I missed the lower cost of living but most of all I missed fishing.

Are these in Oslob?
Before returning to the Philippines I had to make a short stop into Thailand. I wanted to get a little fishing in but things didn’t pan out due to work. Anyways, I’m planning on heading down to Oslob this coming weekend to see if me and Monet can land any of the SailFish he’s been seeing on almost a daily basis. Plus I want to try to fight some of the infamous Giant Squid they have at the aritifical reefs.
Afterwards, I’ll be flying up with Rainer from TCE Tackles and Shibutani to do some fishing with Cholo in Subic Bay. Cholo keeps telling us how prime their fishing grounds are up there, we’re about to find out if this is true.
Back Home In The Good Ole USA
by admin on Oct.31, 2009, under Uncategorized

I'm currently in Savannah, Georgia for a few weeks.
I left the Philippines earlier within the week and flew back to the United States for a family emergency.
I just wanted to take some time to point out a few things I’ve noticed since coming back (just comparing Phil to USA)…
1. Everything is much more expensive in the United States. Especially, for a necessity such as food. This is definately apparent in all the fast food restaurants.
For example, I love eating at Taco Bell and for the $6 I paid for a Combo Meal #6 (Mexican Pizza, Two Tacos and a large drink) you could feed 4 people at a local Filipino Grill.
2. There are so many fat people in the United States! Granted, I’m large, I no longer feel like I’m sticking out like a sore thumb.
Something I also wanted to mention…why in the heck to all the really chunky thighed women here are infatuated with SPANDEX!?!
3. Freeways are just plain wonderful. It feels so nice to be able to drive a car over 35mph.
4. Best Buy just flat out rules! This is a heaven of all heavens in my personal opinion. I purchased a new Toshiba NB205 Netbook yesterday and got it at a great price!
5. STEAKS!!! I love eating steaks.
That’s all for now…hopefully I will have a bit more time to report on some other differences I’ve come to notice since I’ve been back in the United States.

Throat Rot

Nice PUSS!!!
Sunday, October 13th I woke up with a sore throat. Not thinking much about it I continued through out the day doing my normal lazy Sunday ritual (meaning absolutely nothing except watch TV with the girlfriend).
Monday rolls around and my throat is killing me. It gradually got worse when I went to the office and went home feeling very ill. Tuesday and I had a bad fever, then could barely swallow anything so I headed off to the Intellicare clinic in IT Park from whom we have or company HMO with. The Doctor their examines me and says my tonsils are inflamed and filled with white puss and diagnoses me with strep throat. She prescribes a mouth antiseptic and antibiotic that I am supposed to take once a day.
A week goes by and there is absolutely no improvement so I head back to Intellicare for a follow-up. The Doctor there has no clue so she referes me to an Ear, Nose, Throat Doctor at the top rated hosptal here in Cebu (Chung Hua). Wednesday I visit the Doctor and he tells me I do not have strep throat, I have tonsillitus and that I wasn’t prescribed a strong enough antibiotic.
To make a long story short, I get the new prescription filled and I started feeling better two days after taking it. It’s been 5-days thus far and am feeling so much better now. So Intellicare had me waste one whole week in bed with the fever and chills with a bad diagnoses.
At least I have had two good things come about this. I lost a lot of weight from not being able to eat for two weeks and I quit smoking.
Need qualified employee’s

Pie Baking Contest Winner = Managerial Candidate?
Four companie’s and only one qualified supervisor…myself. 15-hour work days and just getting enough time set aside to spend time with the girlfriends on the weekend.
I will have to make some changes soon. It’s amazing to see how many applicants respond to our job postings for a managerial position, yet not having any notable experience to qualify them for such a position. I guess for most people, it’s all about the ‘title’. They want to be a manager, so they try to come up with some of the most off-the-wall credentials when applying for such a position. I even had one applicant make notable presentation that she came in First Place for a Pie Baking contest. WTF???
Counting the Days…weeks….minutes….seconds.

Two more months…for I will be a free spirit once again!
May I once again roam the fields of indescretion and be at liberty to over-indulge in my vices as I please. No longer will I be confined or chained to a meager existance, without the ability to enjoy life and liberty.
Only a short time till I have the independence to break the manacle holding me back from the pleasures I so long for.
